This is really unbelievable to me. I have been reading about scholarships opportunities for many years now. Most of the time it is on the third-party blogs where they just describe about the scholarships and the universities that offer them, with the links to the universities’ websites.
I salute the initiative of the founder of the Global Scholarships who created this platform and its forum where one can feel connected with the real-world people ready to help. Honestly, I have never met such an incredible thing. I hope I’ll find my way here.
Please, I would like to know if I deserve a chance to win a fully funded scholarship to study abroad, especially in the United States of America.
But, before that I am having many concerns and I want to known how possible I can win a scholarship.
First, I am in Burkina Faso, West Africa. But my origins arise from Togo.
Currently, I hold a Master of Business Administration degree from University of the People, an American university. However, the problem is that it is an online and nationally accredited (non-regionally recognized) university.
With this in mind, I would like to know if the diploma can be accepted in a university. Will I be able to win a scholarship?
What is the percentage of chances that I can achieve my dream, which is to get a scholarship to fund my Ph.D./DBA in US?

So, you are right about the national accredition. It doesn’t hold weight like the regional accredition and many institutions and employers will look at a nationally accredited institution as worthless. For Ph.D, if other aspects of your applications (especially research part) are good, they can cover for your nationally accredited degree.
Regarding Ph.D. programs in the US, most are fully funded, so the hard part is to get accepted to a program. Your chances do depend on how strong your profile is. Ph.D. is a research degree, so the professors will look at your research experience as a priority. If you have good research experience, especially if you have publications in good journals, your chances go significantly up. So, while I can’t speak of your exact chances, it really depends on your strength of the application.
I do not know much about DBA. I hope that explanation helps.

Based on your saying, I am happy that I could stand a chance despite the university I attended isn’t regionally accredited.
